How can Mangaung residents and organisations make suggestions or comments on the spending of the budget and service delivery plans of Mangaung for the next 5 years?

The law gives every stakeholder in the city a right to question, comment or make suggestions for changes on the 5 year Integrated Development Plan of the city on an annual basis. This plan guides every other plan in the city, including the budget.

THIS YEAR THE ENTIRE PLAN IS BEING REWRITTEN AT THE START OF THE NEW 5 YEARS TERM OF COUNCIL.

This means that the general trajectory of the city for the next 5 years could be influenced by the plan and any suggestions or proposals or comments given on the plan that are ultimately included in the final plan. It is then the right of every resident to hold the executive to account on their performance measured against this plan on an annual basis.

These annual reviews should include physical meetings where residents can directly ask questions to the mayor, city manager and heads of departments.
