Streetlights has a critical influence on the safety of students, especially pedestrians at night.
In the past 12 months the level of service from Centlec has become much less reliable in respect of maintenance of streetlights.
To report a single streetlight, or 2 or 3 streetlights that are dead in a street, please phone 0800111300 toll free and select option 2.
You can then report the streetlight by giving the suburb, street name and house number and/or pole number. You must then be supplied with a reference number, keep this safe. You can then also whatsapp me all the above details on 0741006808. If it is not fixed after a week, please resend the details to me. Do this until the light is fixed.
If it is 3 or more lights in a row that are dead, follow the above instructions, immediately send me the details i.e. : Dead streetlights Stofberg street poles 6, 7 and 8 (Houses 11, 12 and 13), Universitas. Ref nr 77777. When 3 or more lights are dead, it is especially dangerous. You are welcome to let me know every evening if the lights are still dead.
